Contracts

Standard Vehicle Service Contract

This is an example of a standard vehicle service contract from SouthwestRe, Inc.. In my time at the company, I created hundreds of draft vehicle service contracts & warranties of all different sorts. All of them had to go through legal processes, programming, & printing to make it to the end-user. Contracts like this need to be not only airtight to keep the company from exposure to risk, but also easy to read & digest for the contract purchaser.

Electrical Vehicle Service Contract

This contract covered a wide range of electrical systems & components in many types of vehicles. While the “What is Covered” section seems short, the information in the “What is Not Covered” section was likely more important. This information had to be easy to understand for the contract purchasers as well as the inbound call-center claims adjusters who made the decisions on claims.

PowerRev Motorcycle Protection

This motorcycle protection service contract had to conform to specified guidelines, including form field placement, content formatting, & proper nomenclature for the parts covered & excluded. In addition, every contract that came out of SouthwestRe, Inc. had to be usable in all fifty states. If there were provisions that were impossible to enforce in specific states, we had to make state-specific versions of that contract.

Pro-Trek RV Tire & Wheel Protection

This was one of the shorter contracts I wrote while at SouthwestRe, Inc. Since the vehicle service contract covered only the tires & wheels, this was a document of a smaller scope. However, to make the service contract function in client-end system, every fillable field had to be placed in specific locations throughout the document.
