Comprehensive Editing

Electrical Engineering White Paper

This is one of three papers on electrical engineering that I edited for a graduate student at the University of Texas at Dallas. The original author spoke English as a second language, which presented an interesting challenge as well as a fascinating insight into the linguistic structures of both of our respective languages. Throughout the process of editing this paper, I identified the client’s most frequent grammatical errors, including article use & restrictive/ nonrestrictive clauses. I also tutored him in their proper use. As a result of these edits, this paper was published in the IEEE SOCC.

Electrical Engineering Doctoral Dissertation

This is a small section of a full doctoral dissertation for the same electrical engineering student as the white paper shown above. I edited this 150+ page document for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, readability, & overall clarity. As a result of the graduate student’s hard work supplemented by a dissertation that communicated his efforts properly, the student did earn his doctoral degree.
